Mesial occlusion
Mesial dentition as a deviation of a regular overbite can not only affect individual teeth but also the entire jaw, whereby it is important to determine whether the upper and lower jaws have developed normally or if deviations apply (e.g., a combination of macrogenia = overlarge lower jaw with micrognathia = underdeveloped upper jaw). Anomalies of the mesial spectrum almost always require treatment, as the chewing and tearing functions are impaired, as parodontal damages can be expected, as jaw joint dysfunctions may occur and as manifested forms can only be surgically corrected from a certain age.
