Tooth fractures
In the case of tooth fractures, broken off enamel-dentin (1) can be adhesively structured with the composite filling technique. If the pulpa has been opened, endodontal pre-treatment will be performed. A fracture of the complete clinical crown (2) requires an endodontal prosthetic procedure (root treatment, pin-stump structure, and crown). Root fractures in the upper third (3) lead to loss of the tooth, if the fracture is located to such a subgingival extent that endodontal-prosthetic therapy is not possible. In the case of a fracture in the central third (4), healing is possible, for example with a rail using the adhesive technique. Apical fractions (5) can be removed the same way as in root tip resection. In the case of oblique or longitudinal fractures (6), the tooth cannot be saved.
